Instructions
Special Note on Speckles: For sections specifying ‘Brown with Cream specks’, work primarily in Brown yarn. Occasionally, drop the Brown yarn, pick up the Cream yarn, and work 1-2 sc stitches, then drop Cream and pick up Brown again. Vary the placement of Cream stitches in each round to create a random speckled effect.
Body (Head and Torso)
Start with Brown yarn.
- R1: MR, 6 sc (6)
- R2: *inc* x6 (12)
- R3: *sc, inc* x6 (18)
- R4: *2 sc, inc* x6 (24)
- R5: *3 sc, inc* x6 (30)
- R6-R8: Sc in each st around (30) – Brown with Cream specks
- R9: Change to Cream yarn. Sc in each st around (30)
- R10-R12: Sc in each st around (30) – Place safety eyes between R10 and R11, approximately 6-7 stitches apart. Ensure they are centered on the Cream section.
- R13-R15: Change to Brown yarn. Sc in each st around (30) – Brown with Cream specks. Stuff firmly as you go.

FO, leaving a long tail. Weave the tail through the front loop of each remaining stitch and pull tight to close. Weave in ends.
White Eye Patches (Make 2)
Using Cream/Off-White yarn.
- R1: MR, 6 sc (6)

FO, leaving a long tail for sewing. Attach 8mm safety eyes into the center of each white patch.
Beak
Using Orange yarn.
- R1: MR, 4 sc (4)
- R2: Sc in each st around (4)
FO, leaving a long tail for sewing. Pinch flat and sew onto the face between the eyes.
Ears (Make 2)
Using Brown yarn.
- R1: MR, 4 sc (4)
- R2: Sc in each st around (4)
FO, leaving a long tail for sewing. Pinch flat and sew to the top sides of the head.
Wings (Make 2)
Using Brown yarn with Cream specks.
- R1: Ch 4. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next, 3 sc in last ch. Working down other side of ch: sc in next, 2 sc in last st (8)
- R2-R3: Sc in each st around (8)
FO, leaving a long tail for sewing. Pinch flat and sew to the sides of the body.
Feet (Make 2)
Using Orange yarn.
- R1: MR, 5 sc (5)
- R2: Sc in each st around (5)
FO, leaving a long tail for sewing. Lightly stuff and flatten slightly. Sew to the bottom of the body.
Santa Hat
Hat Cone (Red yarn):
- R1: MR, 4 sc (4)
- R2: *sc, inc* x2 (6)
- R3: Sc in each st around (6)

- R5: Sc in each st around (8)
- R6: *3 sc, inc* x2 (10)
- R7: Sc in each st around (10)

Brim (White yarn):

FO, weave in ends. Create a small white pom-pom and sew it to the tip of the hat.
Scarf
Using Green yarn.
- R1: Ch 30 (adjust length as desired). Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across (29)
- R2: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across (29)
FO, weave in ends. Wrap around the owl’s neck.
Assembly
- Sew the White Eye Patches, with safety eyes attached, to the Cream section of the owl’s face.
- Sew the Beak onto the face, centered between and slightly below the eyes.
- Attach the Ears to the top sides of the head.
- Sew the Wings to the sides of the body.
- Attach the Feet to the bottom of the owl.
- Place the Santa Hat on the owl’s head and wrap the Scarf around its neck.
