Instructions
This pattern creates individual lace motifs which are then joined together to form the choker. The exact placement and number of motifs can be adjusted to fit your desired length and aesthetic.
Main Floral Motif (Make 5-7 in Cream/Pink/White combinations):
Using Cream thread, Ch 6, join with Sl St to form a ring.
Round 1: Ch 1, 12 Sc into ring, join with Sl St to first Sc. (12 Sc)
Round 2 (Petals): *Ch 3, 3 Tr in next St, Ch 3, Sl St in same St, Sl St in next St*. Repeat * to * 5 more times. You will have 6 petals. FO.
Securely sew a 4mm pearl to the center of each floral motif.
Small Leaf Motif (Make 15-20 in Light Pink/White combinations):
Using Light Pink thread, Ch 7.
Row 1: Sl St in 2nd Ch from hook, Sc in next Ch, Hdc in next Ch, Dc in next 2 Ch, Sc in last Ch. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 1, Sc in first St, Hdc in next 2 Sts, Dc in next 2 Sts, Sc in last St. FO.
Securely sew a 3mm pearl to the tip of approximately half of the leaf motifs.
Connecting Choker Band:
Join 5-7 Main Floral Motifs side-by-side using Sl St or Sc stitches between adjacent petals, forming a slightly curved band. You can also use small Ch 3 arches between the petals of connecting motifs for flexibility.
On one end of the choker band, Ch 15 for the closure loop. On the other end, attach a small button or another small floral motif that can fit through the loop.
Dangling Elements:
Attach the Small Leaf Motifs to the bottom edge of the Main Floral Motifs on the choker band. Create varying lengths of dangling chains, alternating colors and motifs for a rich, cascading effect.
Short Dangles: Attach 1-2 Leaf Motifs (some with pearls, some without) directly or with a small Ch 3-5 space.
Medium Dangles: Ch 5-7, then attach 2-3 Leaf Motifs in a small cluster, or spaced along a short chain.
Long Dangles: Ch 8-12, then attach 3-4 Leaf Motifs, possibly with a small floral motif or a single pearl at the very end.
Use Sl St or Sc to securely attach the dangling elements to the bottom loops/edges of the main floral motifs.
Finishing:
Weave in all loose ends carefully using a tapestry needle.
Block the choker gently to shape and stiffen the lace if desired. Use a fabric stiffener for a more rigid result.
