Gauge: Not critical for this project, but aim for tight, even stitches for a delicate look.
Note: Weave in ends securely after each motif. This pattern creates a necklace approximately 16-18 inches long, adjust chain length as needed.
Necklace Cord
Using White/Cream crochet thread, Ch 80 (or desired length for the necklace, excluding the decorative section).
Fasten off. Set aside.
Motif 1: Small Crochet Flower (Make 8-10 in various colors: Pale Yellow, Light Blue, Pale Pink/Peach, White/Cream)
Make a MR.
Ch 2 (counts as first leg of petal).
*1 DC into MR, Ch 2, Sl St into MR.* Repeat from * to * two more times (total 3 petals).
Pull MR tight to close the center of the flower.
Fasten off, leaving a 4-inch tail for attachment.
Motif 2: Beaded Spacer Link (Make 4-6 with assorted beads)
Thread one chosen bead (Clear, Tiny Blue, or Small Yellow) onto your working thread.
Ch 3, slide the bead close to your hook.
Ch 1 (this secures the bead in place between two chain stitches).
Ch 3.
Fasten off, leaving a 4-inch tail for attachment.
Central Dangle
Using a small jump ring, attach the larger Aqua Teardrop Bead to one of your pre-made Small Crochet Flowers (preferably a white or light blue one). You will attach this flower to the center of the necklace later.
Assembly
Lay out your Necklace Cord flat. Decide on the approximate center where your main decorative section will begin.
Arrange your pre-made Small Crochet Flowers and Beaded Spacer Links in a pleasing sequence. Refer to the image for inspiration on color and bead placement.
Attaching the Motifs: Use the tails left on each motif to secure them to the Necklace Cord. Thread the tail onto your tapestry needle, wrap it around a couple of stitches on the Necklace Cord where you want the motif to sit, and then knot it securely on the back. Weave in the remaining tail through the motif itself to hide it.
Continue attaching all your motifs and Beaded Spacer Links along the central section of your Necklace Cord, following your planned arrangement. Ensure they are spaced evenly and securely attached.
Attach the flower with the Central Dangle to the very center of your arrangement.
Finishing the Necklace: Once all motifs are attached, use jewelry pliers to attach a jump ring to one end of the Necklace Cord and the lobster clasp to the other end. You can secure the ends of the crochet cord to the jump rings by folding the last few chains, threading through the jump ring, and then wrapping the tail securely around the cord and weaving in. Optionally, use crimp beads with wire protectors for a more professional finish if your crochet cord is sturdy enough for a small crimp.
Try on your necklace and adjust any motifs as needed.
