Instructions
Flower Motif (Make 6 in Dusty Rose, 6 in Cream/Off-White):
1. Start: Make a Magic Ring (MR).
2. Round 1: Ch 1, work 12 sc into the MR. Pull the tail to close the ring tightly. Join with a sl st to the first sc. (12 sc)
3. Round 2 (Petals):
Ch 1 (does not count as st).
*Sl st into the first sc of Round 1. Ch 3, work (2 dc, picot, 2 dc) into the same sc. Ch 3, then sl st into the next sc of Round 1.
Repeat from * to * 5 more times around the ring. (You will create 6 petals in total, using all 12 sc from Round 1).
After the last repeat, sl st into the starting sl st of the round to finish. Fasten off and weave in all ends securely.
Assembly of the Necklace:
1. Arrange Motifs: Lay out your completed flower motifs in the desired sequence, alternating colors (e.g., Rose, Cream, Rose, Cream…). The image shows approximately 11-12 motifs.
2. Join Motifs: Using your beading needle and matching sewing thread, carefully sew the tip of one petal from a motif to the tip of an adjacent petal from the next motif. Ensure joins are secure but flexible. Continue until all motifs are connected in a graceful curve.
3. Add Beads at Joins: At each point where two motifs are joined, thread a small pearl bead and secure it neatly with your sewing thread.
4. Create Center Dangle:
Identify the center motif of your assembled necklace.
To the bottom tip of one petal on this center motif, attach a single small pearl bead using sewing thread.
Below this bead, create a small loop (you can make 2-3 very tiny chain stitches if using crochet thread, or simply a secure thread loop) and attach two more small pearl beads, creating a delicate tiered dangle. Secure all threads.
5. Back Chains & Clasp:
From the top petal tip of the very first motif in your chain, attach a length of chain stitches (approximately 5-7 inches, or your desired length for the back of the neck). As you crochet this chain, intersperse small pearl beads every few stitches (e.g., ch 5, thread bead, ch 5, thread bead, etc.).
Attach one half of your jewelry clasp to the end of this beaded chain using jewelry pliers or strong sewing thread.
Repeat the process for the last motif in your chain, creating an identical beaded chain and attaching the other half of the clasp.
Ensure both back chains are equal length for a balanced necklace.
