Instructions
This necklace is constructed from several individual motifs crocheted separately and then joined. Patience and attention to detail are key!
Central Floral Motif (Make 1)
Using Dusty Rose thread:
R1: Make a MR, ch 1, 8 sc into MR. Pull ring tight. Join with sl st to first sc. (8 sc)
R2: Ch 1, *sc in next sc, ch 3, skip 1 sc* around. Join with sl st to first sc. (4 sc, 4 ch-3 spaces)
Using Cream thread (attach to any ch-3 space):
R3: In each ch-3 space, work (sc, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sc). Join with sl st to first sc. (4 petals)
R4: Ch 1, *sc in sc between petals of R3. Work behind the R3 petals: (ch 5, sl st into next sc between petals)* 3 times, ch 5. Join with sl st to first sc. (4 ch-5 spaces behind petals)
R5: In each ch-5 space, work (sc, hdc, 2 dc, 3 tr, 2 dc, hdc, sc). Join with sl st to first sc. (4 larger petals)
Securely stitch one 4mm pearl bead to the very center of the Dusty Rose portion.
Small Floral/Leaf Sprig Motifs (Make approx. 6-8, varying slightly)
Using Cream thread:
Type A (Leafy Sprig): Ch 8. Sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, hdc in next 2 ch, dc in next 2 ch, tr in last ch. Turn. Ch 1, working along the other side of the chain: tr in first st, dc in next 2 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, sc in next st, sl st in last st. Fasten off, leaving a tail for joining. Embellish with 1-2 small pearl beads stitched near the base.
Type B (Beaded Drop Sprig): Ch 10. Sl st in 2nd ch from hook. Work a picot. Sc in next ch, hdc in next ch. Skip 1 ch. In next ch, work (sc, picot). Sl st in next 2 ch. Ch 5, attach a teardrop faceted bead to the end of the chain using a small knot and sewing thread, then sl st back up the ch. Sl st into main sprig. Fasten off.
Create variations by changing chain lengths, adding more picots, or varying stitch height (e.g., all sc or all dc). Stitch 1-3 clear faceted beads or small pearl beads onto these motifs.
Necklace Straps (Make 2)
Using Cream thread:
Ch 60 (or desired length for one side of the necklace). Work sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for joining. Repeat for the second strap.
Assembly
Lay out the central floral motif. Arrange the smaller floral/leaf sprig motifs around it, mirroring the shape seen in the image. There should be a main downward-pointing section, and two larger side-branching sections.
Using the long tails or additional cream thread and a tapestry needle, carefully stitch the sprig motifs to the central floral motif. Ensure the connections are secure but delicate.
Integrate the beaded drop sprigs and individual beads by stitching them onto the tips of the sprigs or between connections, as shown in the image. Use matching sewing thread or clear monofilament for bead attachment for a seamless look.
Attach one end of each Necklace Strap to the uppermost side branches of the assembled central piece. Weave in all remaining ends securely.
