- Round 1 (Center Ring): Ch 6, join with sl st to first ch to form a ring.
- Round 2 (Petal Bases): Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 15 dc into ring. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. (16 dc)

- Round 5 (Picot Edge & Joining): Ch 1, sc in first sc. Sc in next 2 sts. Corner: (Sc, picot, sc) in the center dc of the 3 dc group. Sc in next 2 sts. Side: (Sc, picot, sc) in the next sl st (between petals). Sc in next 2 sts. Repeat Corner and Side around. To join motifs as you go (JAYG), replace the middle ch of any picot with a sl st into the corresponding picot of the previous motif.
- Fasten off and weave in ends.
Central Pendant Motif (Make 1): This is the largest motif and forms the centerpiece of the necklace.
- Round 1 (Center Ring): Ch 6, join with sl st to first ch to form a ring.
- Round 2 (Petal Bases): Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 23 dc into ring. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. (24 dc)
- Round 3 (Petals): *Ch 5, sk next 5 dc, sl st into next dc.* Repeat 3 more times. (4 ch-5 loops). Sl st into base of first ch 5.
- Round 4 (Squaring the Motif): Sl st into first ch-5 loop. *In each ch-5 loop work: (sc, hdc, 5 dc, hdc, sc). Then sl st into the sl st between the ch-5 loops.* Repeat 3 more times. Sl st to first sc to finish.
- Round 5 (Picot Edge & Joining): Ch 1, sc in first sc. Sc in next 3 sts. Corner: (Sc, picot, sc) in the center dc of the 5 dc group. Sc in next 3 sts. Side: (Sc, picot, sc) in the next sl st (between petals). Sc in next 3 sts. Repeat Corner and Side around. Join this motif to the Small Flower Square Motifs on 3 sides using the JAYG method. The bottom corner will remain unjoined for the pendant extension.
Pendant Drop (Attached to Central Pendant Motif):
- First Pendant Flower (Larger): Work as "Small Flower Square Motif" Rounds 1-3. For Round 4 (Squaring), work only one petal group (sc, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sc) into one ch-4 loop. Join this petal group to the bottom picot corner of the Central Pendant Motif using a sl st for the center dc of the 3 dc group. Finish off, leaving the rest of the loops unworked.
- Second Pendant Flower (Smaller): Ch 4, join with sl st to form a ring. Ch 1, 8 sc into ring. Join with sl st to first sc. *Ch 2, sl st into next sc.* Repeat 7 more times. Sl st into base of first ch 2. Fasten off. Attach this small flower to the bottom of the First Pendant Flower by sewing its top to one of the stitches.
Assembly of Necklace Chain:
- Arrange your Small Flower Square Motifs in a line, with the Central Pendant Motif in the center. A typical layout might be 4-5 Small Motifs on each side of the Central Motif.
- Using the JAYG method from Round 5, join the motifs together side-by-side to form the necklace chain.
- Ensure the pendant drop is securely attached to the Central Pendant Motif.
Adding Beads:
- Using a beading needle and matching sewing thread, carefully sew a single light blue seed bead to the center of each Small Flower Square Motif and the Central Pendant Motif.
- Sew small clusters of 2-3 light blue seed beads at the points where the motifs join together, particularly around the Central Pendant Motif, as seen in the image.
Attaching the Clasp:
- Using matching sewing thread or a jump ring, securely attach one half of your jewelry clasp (e.g., lobster clasp) to one end of the necklace chain.
- Attach the other half (e.g., jump ring) to the other end of the necklace chain.
Final Touches: Weave in any remaining loose ends. Block your necklace lightly if desired, to ensure it lays flat and holds its shape elegantly.
