Attach Beads:
Using a sewing needle and fine matching thread, sew one small pearl bead or crystal into the center of each completed Floral Motif. Secure neatly on the back.
Assembly:
Lay out all 15 completed Floral Motifs on a flat surface in the desired V-shape:
Row 1 (Bottom Point): 5 motifs, arranged side by side.
Row 2: 4 motifs, positioned above the gaps between the motifs in Row 1.
Row 3: 3 motifs, positioned above the gaps between the motifs in Row 2.
Row 4: 2 motifs, positioned above the gaps between the motifs in Row 3.
Row 5 (Top Center): 1 motif, positioned above the gap between the motifs in Row 4.
Adjust the spacing to achieve the desired drape and shape.
Using your fine sewing thread and needle, carefully whip stitch or slip stitch the adjacent petals of the motifs together where they touch. Aim for a seamless and delicate join that doesn’t pull the fabric.
Neckline Edging and Closure:
Once all motifs are securely joined, you will create a simple chain or slip stitch edge along the top, straight edge of the necklace (where it sits on your neck).
Attach your crochet thread with a sl st to one top corner of the necklace.
Work a row of (sc, ch 3, sc) into the spaces along the top edge, connecting the top petals of the motifs with sl sts or scs to form a smooth, consistent edge. This creates a more finished look and reinforces the structure.
At each end of the top edge, create a small chain loop (Ch 10-15, sl st back into base) to attach a jewelry clasp, OR create a longer chain (Ch 50-70) on each side to be tied into a bow at the back of the neck. Weave in all remaining ends securely.
