Instructions
Let’s create your beautiful sunflower ring! We’ll start with the elegant flower top, then craft the adjustable band, and finally assemble them.
The FlowerRnd 1 (Center): Start with a Magic Ring (MR). Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), work 12 sc into the MR. Pull the tail tight to close the ring. Join with a sl st to the first sc. (12 sc)
Rnd 2 (Inner Petals): For each petal:
- Sl st into the next sc.
- Then (ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, sl st) all into the same sc.
- Sl st into the next sc again to secure the petal base.
Repeat this sequence 11 more times around. You will have 12 small petals.
Fasten off, leaving a tail for weaving in.
Rnd 3 (Outer Petals): Working behind the petals of Rnd 2, attach your yarn into any of the original 12 sc stitches from Rnd 1 (these stitches are now mostly covered by the inner petals, but you can find their bases). You may need to gently push aside the inner petals to find the stitches.
For each petal:
- Sl st into the sc.
- Then (ch 3, 3 dc, ch 3, sl st) all into the same sc.
- Sl st into the next sc again to secure the petal base.
Repeat this sequence 11 more times around. You will have 12 larger petals.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing the flower to the ring band.
The Ring BandThe band is designed to be adjustable, but you can customize the length for a perfect fit.
Row 1: Ch 50 (this creates a circumference for an average finger; chain more or less depending on desired size). Join with a sl st to the first ch, being careful not to twist the chain.
Row 2: Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), sc in each ch around. Join with a sl st to the first sc. (50 sc)
Rows 3-4: Repeat Row 2 for 2 more rounds to create a sturdy band.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
AssemblyWith the long tail from the Outer Petals of the flower, center the flower on top of your crochet ring band. Securely stitch the flower to the band using your yarn needle. Make sure it’s firmly attached so it doesn’t shift or come loose.
Weave in any remaining loose ends neatly. Trim excess yarn.
Congratulations, your beautiful crochet sunflower ring is complete! Wear it with pride or gift it to someone special.
