Instructions
Main Body (Red Yarn):
We will construct the rectangular body of the truck. Start by chaining 9 with red yarn.
Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across, turn (8 sts).
Rows 2-20: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn (8 sts).
To create the 3D block, continue crocheting in rounds around the entire edge of this rectangular base.
Rnd 1: Sc 8 across the short side, 20 down the long side, 8 across the opposite short side, and 20 up the other long side (56 sts).
Rnds 2-12: Sc in each st around (56 sts). Fill with fiberfill firmly.
Rnd 13: In BLO, decrease across to close the top of the truck (or sew a flat panel of 8×20 sts over the opening). Sew shut securely.
Wheels (Make 4):
Start with Grey yarn: Magic Ring, 6 sc inside, join.
Switch to Black yarn: Ch 1, [inc] in each st around (12 sts). Sl st to first st, leave a tail for sewing.
Sew two wheels to each lower side of the truck body.
Ladder (White & Yellow Yarn):
With White: Ch 15, sl st in each ch back. Make two white strips.
With Yellow: Join the two white rails using short yellow horizontal stitches to represent rungs. Sew the finished ladder to the top-right side of the truck.
Finishing Details:
Front Windows: Using white yarn, embroider a rectangular block on the front face. Use black and blue thread to add eyes inside.
Embroider ‘FIRE’ on the front-sides and ‘FD’ on the rear-sides in white thread.
Add a yellow bumper at the bottom front and a yellow stripe on the side.
Attach a red crocheted loop (chain 20) to the top of the cabin and secure a metal keychain ring.
