Instructions
Step 1: The Main Chocolate Panel
Using Dark Brown yarn, chain 11.
Row 1: Sc in the second ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn. (10 sts)
Row 2-18: Ch 1, sc in each st across. Turn. (10 sts)
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Fold the panel in half lengthwise (to make a double-layer rectangle for thickness) and sew the sides closed. Do not stuff.
Step 2: Creating the Chocolate Grid Blocks
To create the realistic 3×2 grid of chocolate squares, we will use surface slip stitches using Dark Brown yarn.
Vertical Line: Insert your hook in the middle of the bottom edge, pull up a loop of brown yarn, and work surface slip stitches straight up the middle line to the top edge. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Horizontal Lines: To divide the bar into three segments, work two horizontal lines of surface slip stitches across the width, spacing them equally (at approximately 1/3 and 2/3 of the height). Fasten off and secure all ends inside the piece.
Step 3: The Bite Mark and Filling
Using White yarn, attach yarn to one of the top corners where the bite will be.
Row 1: Work 3 sc into the edge of the corner. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 1, [sl st, hdc, sl st] in the next 3 sts to create a scalloped “bitten” edge effect. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Step 4: Adding the Foil Wrapper
Cut a small rectangular strip of real kitchen aluminum foil. Wrap it neatly around the bottom third of the crochet chocolate bar, leaving the crinkled edges slightly open to look like a freshly opened candy wrapper. Secure the foil in place with a small dab of hot glue on the back side.
Step 5: Assembly
Using a hot glue gun, apply a generous line of glue along the top surface of the metal alligator hair clip. Carefully press the back side of the completed chocolate bar onto the clip, ensuring it is centered and secure. Let dry completely before wearing.
