Crochet Pattern: Miniature Crochet Flower Cart Keychain Free Pattern
Materials
- Lace weight yarn (Size 10 crochet thread) in Tan, White, Light Yellow, Pink, Light Blue, and Green
- 1.0 mm crochet hook
- Two small wooden toothpicks (cut to about 5 cm / 2 inches)
- Fiberfill stuffing
- Black embroidery floss for the ‘FLOWERS’ text
- Keychain ring and jump rings
- Fabric glue or hot glue gun
- Tapestry needle

Instructions
Step 1: The Flower Basket
Using Tan yarn:
- Round 1: Ch 8. 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 5 ch, 4 sc in last ch. Working along opposite side of chain: sc in next 5 ch, 2 sc in last ch. (18 sts)
- Round 2: Inc in next 2 sts, sc in next 5 sts, inc in next 4 sts, sc in next 5 sts, inc in next 2 sts. (26 sts)
- Round 3: In BLO, sc around. (26 sts)
- Rounds 4-9: Sc around. (26 sts)
- Round 10: [sc 11, dec] repeat twice. (24 sts)
Fasten off, leaving a yarn tail. Embroider the word ‘FLOWERS’ on the front of the basket using black embroidery floss. Stuff the basket firmly with fiberfill.
Step 2: Basket Handle
Using Tan yarn, join with a slip stitch to one side of Round 10 of the basket. Ch 15, then join to the opposite side of the basket with a sl st. Turn, work 1 sc in each chain across back to the start. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Step 3: Striped Awning
The awning is worked in flat rows, alternating Yellow and White yarn every 2 rows.
- Row 1: Using Yellow, ch 13. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across. (12 sts) Turn.
- Row 2: Ch 1, sc across. (12 sts) Turn.
- Row 3-4: Join White. Ch 1, sc across. (12 sts) Turn.
- Row 5-6: Join Yellow. Ch 1, sc across. (12 sts) Turn.
- Row 7-8: Join White. Ch 1, sc across. (12 sts) Turn.
- Row 9-10: Join Yellow. Ch 1, sc across. (12 sts) Turn.
- Scallop Edge: Do not fasten off after Row 10. Working along the front long edge of the awning: *Skip 1 st, 5 dc in next st, skip 1 st, sl st in next st; repeat from * to create the scalloped roof overhang. Fasten off and weave in all loose ends.
Step 4: Miniature Flowers & Leaves
Mini Roses (Make 2-3 in Pink): Ch 12. In 2nd ch from hook, work 2 hdc. Work 3 hdc in each remaining chain across. Fasten off, leaving a tail. Roll the spiral strip into a rose shape and sew the base to secure.
Daisies / Forget-Me-Nots (Make 3-4 in Blue/White/Yellow): In a magic ring, work [ch 2, dc, ch 2, sl st] 5 times to form petals. Fasten off, leaving a tail for assembly. Add a small French knot in the center using a contrasting color.
Mini Leaves (Make 3-4 in Green): Ch 4. Sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next, hdc in last ch. Fasten off.
Step 5: Assembly and Mounting
- Take your two wooden toothpicks. Insert them into the left and right interior sides of the basket, pushing them deep into the fiberfill. Secure with a dab of glue.
- Glue the top of the toothpicks to the underside of the striped awning to support it.
- Arrange and glue your crocheted flowers and green leaves inside the basket so they overflow beautifully.
- Attach a jump ring to the center top of the awning, then secure your keychain ring. Your miniature flower cart keychain is now ready to show off!
