Head: Using grey yarn, start with 6 sc in MR. Work in continuous rounds. Increase evenly to 36 sc over 6 rounds. Work 8 rounds even. Insert safety eyes between rounds 10 and 11, spaced 7 stitches apart. Decrease evenly to 12 sc over 4 rounds. Stuff firmly and fasten off.
Muzzle & Nose: With cream yarn, crochet an oval muzzle (start with ch 5, work around the chain for 3 rounds to reach 18 sts). With dark grey yarn, work a small flat oval nose and sew it directly onto the cream muzzle. Attach the completed muzzle centered between the eyes.
Ears (Make 2): Start with pink yarn. Work 6 sc in MR, increase to 12 sc. Switch to grey yarn, increase to 18 sc. Fold in half and sew to the sides of the head. Add loops of light grey fuzzy yarn around the outer edges of the ears and brush to create a fluffy texture.
Body: With grey yarn, start with 6 sc in MR. Increase to 30 sc over 5 rounds. Work 10 rounds even. For the belly patch, switch to cream yarn over the front 10 stitches for rounds 6-12. Decrease to 12 sc and sew to the head.
Limbs (Make 4): For legs, work 6 sc in MR, increase to 12 sc, and work 6 rounds even. For arms, work 6 sc in MR and work 8 rounds even. Stuff lightly and sew to the body.
Vest & Camera: For the vest, use dark grey yarn. Crochet a flat rectangle (ch 21, work 6 rows of 20 sc), leaving openings for armholes. Sew two tiny buttons to the front. For the camera, crochet a small black block (ch 6, work 5 rows of 5 sc), sew a small circular grey lens to the front, and attach a thin faux leather strap to drape around the koala’s neck.
