Materials

Sport weight cotton yarn in: Light Beige (for main band), Light Pink, Pale Yellow, White (for flowers), Light Green (for leaves and small stems)

Instructions

A. Main Watch Band (Light Beige)

Make 2 identical band halves:

Ch 35 (adjust length to fit wrist, ensuring space for the watch face and clasp). Work loosely.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (34 sc)

Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each sc across. (34 sc) FO, leaving a long tail (approx. 12 inches) on one end for sewing to the watch face, and a shorter tail on the other end for the clasp.

Repeat for the second band half.

B. Tulip Buds (Make 4-5 in Light Pink, 4-5 in Pale Yellow, 4-5 in White)

Start with a Magic Ring (MR).

Ch 2 (does not count as stitch). Work 3 dc into the MR. Yarn over, pull through all 4 loops on hook (this creates a 3-dc cluster, forming a tight bud).

Pull MR closed tightly to form a bud shape. Sl st to secure. FO, leave a tail for sewing.

C. Small Leaves (Light Green – Make 10-15)

Ch 3.

Sl st in 2nd ch from hook.

Sc in the last ch. FO, leave a tail for sewing.

D. Assembly

1. Attach Watch Face: Using the long tail from one band half, secure one end of the band to one lug of your wristwatch face. Weave through the stitches to ensure it’s firmly attached, then secure with a knot and weave in excess tail. Repeat with the second band half and the other watch lug.

2. Arrange Flowers and Leaves: Using your yarn needle and the tails from the tulip buds and leaves, begin sewing them onto the watch bands. Arrange them organically, mimicking a vine:

Start close to the watch face, alternating colors and placing leaves amongst the buds.
Continue down both sides of the band, scattering the flowers and leaves evenly.
Use the green yarn tails from the leaves to create small “stem” like connections between flowers and the main band, weaving them subtly into the beige base.
Ensure all tails are securely woven in on the underside of the band for a neat finish.

3. Attach Clasp: On the shorter ends of the watch band halves (opposite the watch face), use a yarn needle to attach one end of the jewelry chain extension to one band half and the lobster clasp to the other band half. Secure tightly with the yarn tails and weave in any excess. Alternatively, use jewelry pliers to attach if your band has metal findings (not shown in image, so assuming yarn attachment).
