Drawstring (Colors A, B, C, D)
- Cut 2 strands of each Color A, B, C, D (8 strands total), each about 120 inches (305 cm) long. Knot one end together. Twist the strands tightly, then fold the twisted cord in half and allow it to twist back on itself to create a thick, multi-colored cord. Secure the ends with an overhand knot.
- Thread the drawstring through Rnd 29 (the ch-2 spaces) starting from the center front, weaving in and out, ensuring it emerges from the outermost ch-2 space at each side.
Strap (Colors A, B, C, D)
- Cut 2 strands of each Color A, B, C, D (8 strands total), each about 200 inches (508 cm) long for a generous shoulder strap. (Adjust length as desired). Repeat the twisting method used for the drawstring to create a cord for the strap.
- Attach one end of the strap to one side of the bag by looping it through the outermost ch-2 space of Rnd 29 (where the drawstring also emerges). Secure by threading a wooden bead onto the strap cord and knotting tightly below the bead.
- Repeat for the other side of the strap, ensuring it is attached symmetrically.
Tassels (Colors A, B, C, D)
- Cut 6 strands of each Color A, B, C, D (24 strands total), each 12 inches (30 cm) long. Gather all strands evenly. Fold the gathered strands in half. Take a short strand of yarn and tie it tightly around the folded loop, about 1/2 inch (1.25 cm) from the top to form the tassel head. Trim the bottom loops to create fringe.
- Thread one tassel onto one end of the drawstring, then thread a wooden bead. Knot securely at the end of the drawstring to prevent the tassel and bead from falling off. Repeat for the other drawstring end.
