Round 2: Ch 1, inc in each st around. Join. (16 sts)
Round 33: Ch 1, *sc 5, dec* repeat around. Join. Fasten off and weave in ends. (48 sts)
Door Trim:
Attach Dark Brown yarn to any stitch around the edge of the circular opening.
Work sc evenly around the entire opening to create a clean, sturdy lip. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Acorn Cap (Dark Brown):
The cap is worked separately using popcorn stitches to create the bumpy acorn texture, then sewn onto the top of the body.
Round 1: Start with a magic ring, ch 1, work 6 sc into the ring. Join. (6 sts)
Round 2: Ch 1, *pop in next st, ch 1* repeat around. Join. (6 popcorns)

Round 6-10: Continue increasing in popcorn pattern until the cap is wide enough to cover the top third of the acorn body.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Stem, Loop & Leaf Details:
Stem (Dark Brown): Ch 6. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across. Work 4 more rows of sc to create a thick tab. Fold in half and sew to the top center of the cap.
Hanging Loop (Dark Brown): Ch 15, slip stitch in the first chain to form a loop. Sew next to the stem.
Oak Leaf (Light Brown): Ch 10. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc, dc, (tr, ch 2, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, tr in same st), dc, hdc, sc. Repeat on the opposite side of the chain to create an oak leaf shape. Sew next to the stem.
Sew the wooden button securely next to the leaf and stem.
Assembly:
Position the Cap onto the top third of the Acorn Body. Sew it securely in place using your long yarn tail and a tapestry needle. Ensure the structure is stuffed out nicely to help it hold its dome shape before your kitty moves in!
