Instructions
This pattern creates a small flower ring approximately 1 inch (2.5 cm) in diameter, with an adjustable band length.
Flower Center (Light Yellow)
Round 1: With Light Yellow yarn, make a MR. Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), work 5 sc into the ring. Join with a sl st to the first sc. (5 sc)
Fasten off Light Yellow yarn, leaving a short tail to weave in.
Petals (Light Mint Green)
Attach Light Mint Green yarn with a sl st to any sc from the previous round (the yellow center).
Petal 1: [Ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, sl st] all into the same sc where you attached the yarn. This completes your first petal.
Sl st into the next sc from the yellow center.
Petal 2: [Ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, sl st] all into the same sc you just slipped into.
Repeat the ‘sl st into next sc, then make a petal’ sequence for the remaining 3 sc stitches from the yellow center. You will have a total of 5 petals.
After completing the 5th petal, sl st once more into the base of the first petal to secure. Fasten off Light Mint Green yarn, leaving a tail about 4-6 inches for weaving in.
Ring Band (Light Mint Green)
With the flower’s wrong side facing you, attach Light Mint Green yarn with a sl st to the base of any petal (on the wrong side).
Ch 45 (or your desired length for the ring band – test by wrapping around your finger. For a smaller ring, chain less; for a larger ring, chain more).
Sl st into the base of a petal directly opposite the starting point on the wrong side of the flower. Ensure the chain forms a neat circle.
Fasten off Light Mint Green yarn, leaving a short tail.
Finishing
Weave in all loose ends using your tapestry needle. Gently block your flower if needed to help the petals lay flat.
