Instructions
1. Daisy Motif (Make 14-16, 7-8 for each strap side)
Center (Yellow Yarn):
Make a magic ring. Ch 1, work 6 sc into the ring. Sl st to join to first sc. (6 sts)
Fasten off yellow yarn, leaving a short tail to secure the magic ring and weave in.
Petals (Off-White Yarn):
Attach off-white yarn with a sl st into any sc post of the yellow center.
[Ch 2, work 2 dc into the same sc post, ch 2, sl st into the same sc post.] (This completes one petal).
Sl st into the next sc post of the yellow center.
Repeat [ ] 5 more times to create a total of 6 petals around the yellow center.
Sl st to the initial sl st to finish. Fasten off, weave in ends securely.
Add Center Bead: Using a tapestry needle and a small length of matching thread, sew a small gold seed bead firmly into the center of each yellow daisy.
2. Assembling the Watch Strap (Make 2 identical halves)
Note: Each strap half will consist of your chosen number of daisy motifs (e.g., 7-8 daisies per side).
First Strap Half:
Take 7 prepared daisy motifs.
Attaching to Watch Lug:
With off-white yarn, make a slip knot. Insert hook through one side of the watch lug (where the original strap attached). Sl st to attach yarn.
Ch 3. Sl st into the tip of a petal on your first Daisy Motif.
Ch 2. Sl st into the tip of the adjacent petal on the same Daisy Motif.
This creates a small loop over the watch lug and anchors the first daisy.
Connecting Daisies – Inner Edge:
From the second sl st into the first daisy (adjacent petal), Ch 3.
Sl st into the tip of a petal on your second Daisy Motif.
Ch 3. Sl st into the tip of an adjacent petal on the same second Daisy Motif.
Repeat this sequence (Ch 3, sl st into new daisy petal, Ch 3, sl st into adjacent petal of same daisy) for all remaining daisies (Daisies 3 through 7).
After the last daisy (Daisy 7), Ch 3. Fasten off, leaving a tail to weave in. This forms the "inner" line of connection.
Connecting Daisies – Outer Edge with Beads:
Attach off-white yarn with a sl st to the tip of a petal on Daisy 1, directly opposite where you first connected it to the watch lug.
Ch 2. Using your tapestry needle, string one small gold seed bead onto your working yarn. Push the bead close to your hook. Ch 2 (this secures the bead).
Sl st into the tip of a petal on Daisy 2, opposite where you connected it on the inner edge.
Repeat [Ch 2, thread bead, Ch 2, sl st into opposite petal of next daisy] for Daisies 3 through 7.
After the last daisy (Daisy 7), Ch 2, thread bead, Ch 2. Fasten off, leaving a tail to weave in.
3. Finishing the Strap Halves:
Weave in all remaining loose ends on both strap halves using a tapestry needle.
Using jewelry pliers, open a jump ring and attach it to the end of the first strap half (through the last chain loop formed at the end of the outer edge connection). Close the jump ring.
Open another jump ring and attach it to the end of the second strap half. Attach one side of your clasp to this jump ring. Close the jump ring.
Attach the other side of your clasp to the jump ring on the first strap half. (Alternatively, attach one clasp end to each strap, so they clasp in the middle).
