Round 3: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 1 dc in the same st. *1 dc in the next st, 2 dc in the next st* Repeat from * around. Sl st to the top of the initial ch 3. (36 dc) FO DR.
Using Cream (MC):
Round 4: Join MC with a sl st in any st. Ch 1, sc in the same st. *Sk 2 sts, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the next st (shell made), sk 2 sts, sc in the next st* Repeat from * around, ending with an sc. Sl st to the first sc. (6 shells, 6 sc). FO MC.
Small 5-Petal Flower (Make 9-10: 5 in DR, 4-5 in MC)
Using DR or MC:
Make a MR. Ch 2. (Dc, tr, dc, ch 2, sl st) into the ring. Repeat 4 more times for a total of 5 petals. Pull the MR tight to close the center. FO.
For some flowers, attach a small pearl to the center using a beading needle and matching thread.
Small Leaf (Make 10-12 in Sage Green (SG))
Using SG:
Ch 7. Sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, hdc in the next ch, dc in the next 2 ch, hdc in the next ch, sc in the last ch.
Ch 1, turn (working along the other side of the chain). Sc in the first st, hdc in the next ch, dc in the next 2 ch, hdc in the next ch, sc in the last st. Sl st to the first sc. FO.
Lace Strap Segment (Make 2 in MC)
Create two identical strap segments. The length will depend on your desired necklace length, but typically around 15-20 segments per side.
Ch 6. Sl st in the 6th ch from the hook to form a ring.
Ch 1, 3 sc in the ring.
*Ch 5, sl st in the 5th ch from the hook to form a ring. Ch 1, 3 sc in this new ring. Sl st into the first sc of the previous ring.*
Repeat from * until your strap reaches the desired length. FO.
Assembly
Use your yarn needle and MC thread to sew all components together.
Attach Flowers and Leaves: Arrange the small flowers and leaves artistically around the edge of the Central Medallion (Round 4). Overlap them slightly and vary the colors for a natural look. Stitch them securely to the medallion.
Attach Lace Straps: Sew one end of each Lace Strap Segment to the sides of the Central Medallion, directly adjacent to where the floral arrangement ends.
