Assembly & Facial Features
- Muzzle and Nose: Position the light pink muzzle onto the center-lower part of one main face panel. Sew it securely. Using dark brown yarn and a yarn needle, embroider a triangular nose shape on the top center of the muzzle, then create a line extending downwards from the point of the triangle.
- Eyes: Insert the 9mm safety eyes between R12 and R13 of the main face panel, symmetrically placed above the muzzle. Secure the backings.
- Ears: Fold each ear slightly to cup it. Position the ears on top of the main face panel, approximately between R2 and R4 on each side of the head, and sew them securely.
- Mane (Golden Yellow Yarn): For the mane, cut many 4-inch (10cm) strands of golden yellow yarn. Using a crochet hook, loop each strand through the stitches around the outer edge of the main face panel (from R16-R18). Tie each strand securely in a knot, creating a dense fringe. Trim evenly if desired.
Bag Assembly
Place the two main face panels together, with the lion face on top. Using medium brown yarn, sc around the edges of both panels, joining them together. Start from one side near the top, sc all the way around the bottom, and finish on the other side near the top, leaving an opening for the bag. Sl st and FO.
Handle (Golden Yellow and Medium Brown Yarn)
Cut three long strands of yarn: two golden yellow and one medium brown (or two brown, one yellow, for a slightly different look like the image). Hold them together and braid them tightly. Measure the desired length for the handle and secure the ends with knots. Attach one end of the braided handle to each side of the bag’s opening using a yarn needle, weaving it securely into the top stitches of the bag.
